is what we become.
What we perceive,
CvdZ Architecture integrates
a holistic, human-centred
to consciously create spaces
approach with architecture
that heal.
CvdZ is an architecture and design practice based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
At the core of our work lies a profound understanding of human behaviour and the ways in which we perceive, experience, and embody the spaces around us. By infusing architecture with consciousness, we embrace a holistic, human-centered approach that weaves together physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of healing.
This philosophy enables us to create spaces that feel alive—deeply interconnected environments that nurture transformation and well-being. The result is an authentic architecture that supports individuals in realizing their full potential, and allows people to be in alignment with their true purpose in life.

HEALING ARCHITECT
Carey is Principal Architect, and Co-Founder of CvdZ Architecture, where she integrates healing into every aspect of her work—from the design process to the final outcome. Over the past decade, she has trained in energy and consciousness healing, a practice that continues to inform her approach to designing spaces that nurture the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of those who inhabit them.
Carey is intuitively aware of every detail in every project. Leading the design on a variety of typologies, scales, and sizes—Carey has worked on everything from children and family intervention and prevention centres, to a horse healing centre, to a dementia care village, to single family homes that heal.
In addition to CvdZ project work, Carey speaks around the world on Healing Architecture and consciousness, while also being the international award winning Creative Director for The Site Magazine: the leading, independent, architecture, urbanism, and design, journal in Canada.

Garth Crump is Architectural Technologist, Project Manager, and Co-Founder of CvdZ Architecture. As a technologist, Garth’s work is grounded in developing technical solutions to ensure that projects become what they need to be. This happens at all project phases, from developing community facility dreams, through to detailing with contractors on site.
On all his projects, he takes a relational approach, listens and works to understanding the story and context behind each challenge. This approach has helped to create decades of projects—that promote health, happiness, and a strong connection to place.
Garth has led, and been part of a wide range of projects from single family homes, to civil infrastructure, to community development – in urban and rural settings. Garth always centres projects on the people who will live, work, and gather in the spaces he helps bring to life.
